Rucking is a low-intensity exercise in which you add weight to a backpack while walking or hiking. This is a good way to prepare for the hiking portions of the race. A 5-mile training ruck would be a great way to prepare for a 3 to 4-mile Spartan Race and a 10-mile ruck would be a great way to train for an 8 to 10-mile Spartan Race.
